Digging the root releases…

Spring Herb Group Meeting – Herbal Spring Cleaning?
With the sun on our backs as we cleared our herb garden of weeds this weekend, Spring felt like it was no longer a promise but a reality.
The young leaves of Nettle and small shoots of Galium ( goosegrass) made a refreshing and cleansing drink as we discussed which plants we would like to add to our patch this year.
For starters we planted…
Chickweed Infused Oil
Last week a lovely family came to see me, their child has severe eczema.
As part of the Consultation we spoke about different herbs which can help this condition and I mentioned Chickweed for its ability to soothe the maddening itch.
As it happens the child’s parents are fruit growers and have a ‘problem’ with Chickweed in their polytunnel…..problem solved!
I arrived at my clinic…
October – digging roots
Roots are quite amazing medicine on every level and there is something quite satisfying about unearthing this hidden medicine.
Today at our Herb Group Meeting we dug Soapwort root, Valerian and Burdock.
The Burdock root is sweet to taste and is a very usable vegetable.
I chopped the root and covered it with Apple Cider Vinegar, I will leave it for 3-4 weeks before filtering…
